Access to healthcare is a significant challenge for many Americans. Certainly, financial constraints and limited healthcare provider availability are major hindrances for low income residents seeking healthcare. However, lack of transportation to healthcare appointments, which usually are not close to home, is a huge challenge for many people with limited incomes and/or disabilities. Also, when people miss medical appointments, costs and waiting lists increase.This panel will explore the transportation situation for those seeking healthcare, and some of the new ideas and pilot programs in this space. Startups have a real opportunity to help solve mobility and transportation issues for residents with limited resources who are in dire need of access to healthcare.
